大地は、大分県中津市で１９８７年５月に小さな手仕事の店として開店しました。当時は「フェアトレード」という言葉もない時代でしたが、現地の伝統的な様式を大事にしながら利用しやすいシンプルで素材の良さを大事にオリジナルでデザインをしてきました。取引先は主にネパール、インド、バングラデシュなどの国々で作られた衣類や雑貨です。
　当店でしかないフェアトレードという仕組みで作られた、人と環境に配慮された、作るヒト、買うヒト、使うヒトが喜ぶ商品です。
身近なお買い物でそうした国や人との出会いきっかけになれることを期待しています。

Daichi opened in May 1987 as a small handicraft shop in Nakatsu City, Oita Prefecture. At that time, there was no such word as "fair trade", but we have created original designs that are simple and easy to use while respecting the traditional style of the region. Our business partners are mainly clothing and miscellaneous goods made in countries such as Nepal, India, and Bangladesh.
This is a product that is friendly to people and the environment, made by a system called fair trade that can only be found at our store, and that makes people who make, buy, and use it happy.
